Book Notes: Knowledge and the Wealth of Nations

Many know that I am a trained economist and that I was actually a professor of economics at a university in the Los Angeles area for about 7 years. I even got tenure!

This book was a fun read and tells the story of how economists undertake research and how the field of economics advances generally. The book is detailed and does a good job of explaining difficult economic concepts to the lay person. However, for me, the most fascinating part of the book is Warsh's description of how economists formulate their thoughts from first drafts to a final published paper. Warsh also fills us in on some of the intrigue that takes place in conference rooms and between faculty members at universities. You don't have to be an economist to get the gist of this book. You will learn quite a bit, actually.
